RAKKE – Premiere of the long version -Louis Thuriot & Patricia George (Bijloke Wonderland)
augustus 26

A piece performed by mother and son.
”Rakke” is a West Flemish (West Vlaams) word meaning “quarrel.” This piece is inspired by (their) family conflicts and the complex emotions they bring such as shame, pride, frustration, anger and loss of control. Fights between parents and children have many layers, and by exploring them, they found a lot of inspiration. They noticed recurring patterns and asked themselves: What sparks a fight? What is feeding the fight? How does it eventually resolve? These emotions are the foundation of their work, shaping the piece into their own personal story.
